The following is a brief description from the Keystone Off-Road Event promoter:
Keystone Off-Road is a 50-mile backcountry mountain bike race starting at Mud Run Farm near Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, and climbing up into the beautiful Pine Creek Gorge. Riders will connect some of the area’s most exhilarating (and challenging) pieces of singletrack, doubletrack, gravel roads and occasional pavement. The trails are not machine-built and buff, but rather primitive multi-use trails in the beautiful Pine Creek Gorge area just outside of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Riders will traverse four mountain passes and climb nearly 8,000 vertical feet!
Expect to carry your own nutrition and tools necessary to fix your bike to complete the course. This event is to test your endurance and ability to get your bike and yourself to the finish! Finishers are awarded a well-earned commemorative pint glass and post-race dinner prepared by Mud Run Farm’s chef. This is a finish line that will make every mile worth the effort. Course will be emailed to all confirmed registrants prior to event.
Please see the Event BikeReg page for more. This Event promoter also hosts Keystone Gravel. The Hub’s JB rode Keystone Gravel in 2019, and had a blast! This promoter knows how to do it right! Check out the gravel event as well.
