Below is a description from the legendary Month of Mud Western PA MTB series. The Hub has set October date placeholders as the series usually runs most October weekends, but can stretch from late September to early November, depending on the year. Please check the Event promoter’s website or back here later in the year for updates.
The Month of Mud is Western Pennsylvania’s oldest and largest off-road race series for racers, by racers. Established way back in 1989.
The Month Of Mud is a very unique race series. We don’t focus on just one style of racing. We have a cyclocross race, two cross country races, a short-track cross-country race and a downhill time trial. You can compete in as many races as you wish or compete in all the races and qualify for the series championship. We welcome racers of all ages and abilities, there are thirteen different classes to choose from. All the races are held within a 50-mile radius from downtown Pittsburgh. Our races are held on Sunday morning, during the months of September and October, check our schedule for more information. We have a strong group of Volunteers who help run the series and we’re a Not-for-Profit group. We work with the local parks to do trail maintenance and we donate money to parks for maintenance projects.
Come on out and race or spectate Western Pennsylvania’s most unique bicycle racing series.
