The following is a brief description from the Red Kite Ronde Event promoter:
The Red Kite Ronde is an endurance adventure cycling event that starts and finishes in Gambier, Ohio. The Ronde traverses east across Knox and Coshocton Counties on a route that includes hills, dirt and gravel roads, and other challenges brought forth by the terrain. The Ronde will consist of a marquee 200 kilometer challenge, part of the Ohio Gravel Series, a 120 kilometer race and an 50 kilometer ride.
Course
Expect a little bit of everything, including the unexpected. Anything from pavement, gravel, dirt, trail, maybe a creek crossing or two, lots of climbing, fun, and ‘fun’. Course routes and GPS files will be available on ridewithgps.com a week before the event.
Equipment
Ronde participants will be subject to limited equipment restrictions. E-bikes and other forms of motors are prohibited. Forward facing handlebar extensions (i.e. clip on aero bars, bar ends) are prohibited for safety reasons.
