***It is unclear whether the event will take place this year. Please check back in as The Hub will provide the current year date when it is made available by the Event promoter.
The following is a brief description from the Rock Creek Roubaix Event promoter:
We are bringing competitive gravel racing to the local area. The race course will be primarily (80%-85%) on gravel roads in and about Ashtabula County, Ohio. Perhaps for some, this will be their first real gravel race. For others, it will test their fortitude by navigating along the many challenges a gravel race entails.
The Rock Creek Roubaix is a fast paced 50 mile gravel race (two loops of 25 miles). The course itself, isn’t challenging, so there isn’t any soul sucking climbs or hair raising descents. There is a lot of gravel though (32 mm tires recommended). Since the race is in the middle of July, heat can be an issue. There will be an aid station at the half loop which racers pass twice.
If racing isn’t your thing but like to ride gravel, we offer a 25 mile fun loop. Riders are on the race course but only do half.
Please see the Rock Creek Roubaix Event Facebook page for more.
