Harnessing the aspiration and challenge of taking on an “XL” ride, I invite you to Ted’s XL’ent Adventure! With three locations to choose from, California, Vermont, and Washington, these will be a standout feature of 2023. . . .
Let’s go back to basics. Let’s learn from each other. Let’s grab onto the things we love about cycling and spend time there!
A good time on two wheels is at the core of why we all ride a bike. Ted’s XL’ent Adventure hand-picks the things that stand out as exceptional and runs with them. Specifically, a great group of people, an inspiring place to ride, and an adventure with lots of knowns, but still plenty of unknowns.
The Nuts and Bolts:
Ted’s XL’ent Adventure is a group bikepacking experience. We will meet at a specified date and time and then start riding a published route. The route will be long enough that it will require multiple days.
Inherently, bikepacking is an arms-distant experience. It’s intriguing, exciting, and adventurous, but it’s not as easy as rolling out your front door for an hour long spin. Bikepacking takes us out of our comfort zone and presents a number of challenges. But as a group, we can lean on each other, learn from each other, and have an incredible experience with one another.
Naturally, a group will spread out throughout the route. We therefore have predetermined overnight points where we will stop, set up camp, eat, talk, laugh, and learn.
There is no fee. There aren’t timing chips or the pursuit of an FKT. We’re here for a really fun bike ride. . . .
